World Skills
WorldSkills India is an initiative that aims to promote skills and vocational training in India by providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents in various vocational trades and skills. It is part of the global WorldSkills movement, which organizes international skills competitions known as WorldSkills Competitions.
WorldSkills India functions under the guidance of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with industry partners, educational institutions, and government bodies. The initiative seeks to enhance the quality of vocational training, raise awareness about vocational careers, and inspire youth to excel in skill-based professions.
Through regional, national, and international competitions, WorldSkills India selects and trains participants in a wide range of skills such as plumbing, welding, carpentry, information technology, and many others. Winners of national competitions have the opportunity to represent India at the WorldSkills Competitions, where they compete against participants from other countries.
